Thomas Masnica, HMS, CES, CPT; ACSM

Tom is a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). He has been practicing and researching health and fitness for over fifteen years. His experience stems from his time as a volunteer firefighter and EMT, volunteer on the county hazardous materials emergency response team, as well as serving in the US Air Force as a Security Forces leader. During his time on active duty, Tom deployed three times to combat areas in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Upon returning home, Tom continued his secondary studies, earning degrees in both Exercise Science as well as Health and Physical Education, and becoming a licensed teacher in the state of New Jersey. He further continued his post-baccalaureate studies in Special Education. It quickly dawned upon him that there was a large population of people who needed specific attention aside from the typical power routines military and emergency service personnel were accustomed to receiving. At this point, Tom shifted much of his focus to special consideration patients and furthered his education. Tom became a corrective exercise specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Human Movement Specialist through the Brookbush Institute, and branched into various specialties including myofascial release and deep tissue release, senior fitness, dynamic movement, supplemental physical education for children, yoga, Pilates, aquatics, special consideration patients and more. Tom has completed over a thousand hours of continuing education.

He brings to his clients a vast array of expertise. In his fifteen years of health and fitness experience, Tom has worked with all sorts of clients including patients with fibromylagia, sciatica, arthritis and other orthopedic impairments, Autism, cerebral palsy, Diabetes, cardiovascular disease and more. In addition to these patients, Tom has developed hundreds of programs for individuals searching for simple weight management or strength and conditioning programs.

As his clientele and business grow, so do his education, knowledge and practical abilities. Tom is currently working on developing a comprehensive group fitness routine that places more individual attention to the member in the group setting, as well as working on publishing articles and research. Tom is currently researching topics including dynamics and cerebral palsy, effects of caffeine and other supplements on exercise, releasing of stenosis in vertebrae, and a multiple-tier approach for relieving arthritic knee pain.
